OWENTANDO TV Network is a South African digital streaming, television and media platform based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. We provide a home for filmmakers, musicians, churches, event organisers, podcasters and documentary creators to showcase their work.
The platform brings together movies, television series, music videos, reality programmes, church content, documentaries, podcasts, sports, news, events and original productions. We also support approved creators with professional publishing, marketing, audience growth and opportunities to earn revenue from eligible content.
OWENTANDO TV Network belongs to Owentando Trading and Projects. Its official network launch is planned for 19 September 2026.

Founder & Network Director
A filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, editor and creative entrepreneur leading the vision of OWENTANDO TV Network.
Ayanda Zungu is the Founder and Network Director of OWENTANDO TV Network. He is a South African filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, film editor, cinematographer, videographer, photographer and graphic designer from Pietermaritzburg. Through community filmmaking and creative development, Ayanda has worked to create opportunities for emerging performers, filmmakers and storytellers. He oversees the network’s strategy, content development, creator partnerships, productions and long-term growth. His vision is to build a professional digital platform where African creators can distribute their work, grow their audiences and earn revenue from eligible content.

Overseeing programme development, content standards and the growth of the network’s African content catalogue.
Mzwandile Ntshele serves as Head of Content at OWENTANDO TV Network. He supports the planning, review and development of programmes across the network. His responsibilities include identifying promising content, maintaining publishing standards and coordinating with filmmakers, presenters and department leaders.
Production & OperationsProduction Manager
Coordinating productions, schedules, administration and communication across the network.
Thembelihle Mchunu serves as Production Manager at OWENTANDO TV Network. She supports production planning, schedules, documentation, creator records and daily administrative activities. Her role helps departments and productions remain organised and properly coordinated.
Marketing & Audience GrowthMarketing Manager
An actor, director, cinematographer and writer supporting programme promotion, partnerships and audience development.
Ntokozo Zaca serves as Marketing Manager and supports the Films Department at OWENTANDO TV Network. He is an actor, director, cinematographer, writer and founder of Young Generation. His responsibilities include programme promotion, marketing campaigns, partnerships, social media growth and helping African film projects reach wider audiences.

Mthandeni Ndlovu leads the Podcasts Department. He supports podcast development, episode planning, guest identification and presenter-led conversations covering entertainment, business, education, culture, community stories and current affairs.
ComedyHead of Comedy Stories
A filmmaker, director, writer, producer and founder of Bafololo Production.
Mduduzi Makhanya leads the Comedy Stories Department. He works with writers, comedians, actors and production teams to develop original comedy sketches, short stories and entertainment programmes while creating opportunities for emerging performers.
FilmsHead of Films & Short Stories
Developing meaningful African films and opportunities for emerging filmmakers.
Ntokozo Zaca supports the Films and Short Stories Department by identifying projects, developing stories and coordinating with writers, actors, directors and production teams. The department focuses on producing entertaining and meaningful African stories.
DocumentariesHead of Documentaries
Founder of Isizwe Art Project, director, writer and producer.
Mondli Shange leads the Documentaries Department. He develops factual programmes exploring African culture, history, communities, social issues and inspiring personal journeys. He supports research and guides documentary projects from concept to completion.
MusicCo-Head of Music
Supporting musicians and helping produce performances, interviews and original music programmes.
Thalente Chiliza serves as Co-Head of Music. He works with artists, singers, choirs, performers and music organisations to identify talent, organise performances and develop professional music content for wider audiences.

A producer, writer, actor, photographer, videographer and founder of NR Shandisi Production Studio.
Teeza Jili serves as Co-Head of Music. He supports artist interviews, music videos, live performances and music-related programmes while helping established and emerging African musicians showcase their work.

Bringing local sport, athlete stories and community competitions to audiences.
Sandile Zungu leads the Sports Department. He identifies sporting events, athletes and community competitions for coverage. The department develops highlights, interviews, discussions and features that celebrate local sporting talent.
NewsHead of News
Supporting responsible reporting focused on communities, culture and important local stories.
Sbahle Makhaye leads the News Department. The department focuses on responsible, accurate and community-centred reporting through interviews, field coverage, news stories and presenter-led programmes.

ProductionCamera Operator
Willowood Studios co-founder, director of photography, camera operator, director, actor and fight choreographer.
Samuel Dumakude works in the Production Department as a camera operator and cinematographer. He prepares camera equipment, records interviews, films events and captures scenes for OWENTANDO productions. He works with producers and directors to create the required visual style.
ProductionSound Engineer & Cinematographer
A cinematographer, director of photography, sound engineer and co-founder of Willowood Studios.
Innocent Ndlovu is a cinematographer and sound engineer associated with Willowood Studios. His work includes cinematography and sound production on projects such as Isipho: The Gift and Ihlathi Legazi. He supports camera work, location sound, microphone preparation, audio monitoring and final production quality.
Post-ProductionVideo Editor
Transforming recorded footage into complete films, programmes, trailers and digital content.
As part of the post-production team, Ayanda Zungu assembles footage, develops story structure, adds titles, performs colour correction and prepares productions for release. His work contributes to the visual identity of OWENTANDO TV Network.

Supporting post-production and preparing engaging programmes for digital audiences.
Mawande Likeno supports the Post-Production Department by editing films, interviews, programmes, promotional videos and social media content while helping completed productions meet the network’s quality standards.
Supporting African creators
Under the standard creator revenue model, approved creators receive 70% and OWENTANDO TV Network receives 30% of eligible revenue. The signed creator agreement and revenue policy govern eligibility, deductions, reporting and payment terms.
