General information about OWENTANDO TV Network, its purpose and launch.
OWENTANDO TV Network is a South African digital streaming and media platform dedicated to discovering, promoting and distributing quality African content. The network belongs to Owentando Trading and Projects.
The network is based at 31 Railway Street, Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, 3201, South Africa.
The official OWENTANDO TV Network programme launch is scheduled for 19 September 2026. Confirmed launch announcements and programme details will be published through the website and official social channels.
OWENTANDO TV Network was founded by Ayanda Zungu, who serves as the Founder & Network Director.
The platform presents movies, series, short films, music videos, podcasts, documentaries, reality programmes, church content, news, sports, live events and original productions.
How videos, scheduled television and live-event streams work.
Discover programmes on the OWENTANDO website. Approved YouTube-hosted films and videos can play inside the OWENTANDO watch page, so viewers do not normally need to leave the website. The official YouTube channel remains the hosting and measurement platform for those videos.
Public programmes and Live TV can generally be browsed without an account. A viewer account is required for protected account features such as submitting comments and may support more personalised services as the platform grows.
Publicly available programmes can be watched without an OWENTANDO subscription charge. Your mobile network or internet provider may still charge for the data used while streaming. Any future premium or ticketed service will be clearly identified before payment.
The Live TV page follows the published OWENTANDO schedule. When a scheduled film or programme is already in progress, the player calculates the current broadcast position instead of always starting from the beginning. The TV guide shows the current and upcoming programmes.
Live TV continues according to the channel schedule even when playback is paused on one device. When playback resumes, the player should return to the current scheduled position. If the device remains behind, refresh the page or restart Live TV to rejoin the live point.
Yes, when the programme source and schedule are hosted online. The website, database and hosted video source continue operating without the administrator's laptop. A direct live event is different: the camera or streaming encoder sending that live feed must remain powered and connected for the broadcast to continue.
A programme may still be awaiting approval, scheduled for release, private, removed for a rights review, restricted by its video host or temporarily unavailable in a particular location. Try again later or contact support if the problem continues.
Signing in, joining discussions and keeping the community respectful.
A viewer account identifies you securely when using community and personalised features. You can still watch public content without signing in, but commenting requires an authenticated viewer account.
Sign in, open the programme's watch page, enter a display name and respectful comment, mark it if it contains spoilers, and submit it for review.
New viewer comments enter a pending moderation queue. An OWENTANDO administrator reviews them before they are publicly displayed. Spam, harassment, hate speech, private information and unlawful content can be rejected.
When a comment is marked as a spoiler, approved viewers see a spoiler warning and choose whether to reveal the comment.
Use the password-recovery page with the email address connected to your account. Follow the secure reset link sent to that address and choose a new password.
Applications, content rights, reviews and creator agreements.
Filmmakers, musicians, podcasters, documentary creators, churches, event organisers, photographers, actors, presenters and other African media creators may submit an application.
Create an account, complete the creator registration and onboarding information, and submit the application for review. Approval is required before the full creator portal and publishing workflow become available.
No. Creator applications and content submissions are reviewed for identity, quality, ownership, copyright compliance, platform suitability and community standards. Submission does not guarantee approval, publication or income.
No, unless you hold written permission and every right needed for distribution. Copyright-infringing or unauthorised content can be rejected, unpublished or removed.
The submission enters an administrator review process. The team checks rights, technical quality, metadata and suitability. It may be approved, rejected or require additional information before publication or scheduling.
Approved content may be published or scheduled through the official OWENTANDO TV Network YouTube channel and connected to its programme page on the OWENTANDO website. The signed agreement determines the approved distribution arrangement.
Ownership and distribution permission are governed by the signed creator agreement. OWENTANDO receives only the permissions described in that agreement; creators should read it carefully before accepting.
Creator earnings, the revenue division, wallets and withdrawals.
The standard programme allocates 70% of verified distributable net revenue to the creator and 30% to OWENTANDO TV Network, unless a signed agreement states otherwise. Verification, eligible costs and the Revenue Policy still apply.
No. Earnings depend on monetisation eligibility, valid views, advertising availability, platform rules, content performance and verified revenue actually received by the network.
Approved creators can use their dashboard, earnings page and wallet after the required creator and financial records have been activated.
An eligible creator saves verified bank information and submits a withdrawal request from the creator portal. The request remains subject to available balance, verification, approval and the applicable payment rules.
No. OWENTANDO cannot guarantee views, advertising income, audience growth, monetisation approval or a specific amount of creator revenue.
When downloads are permitted and how protected content may be used.
Only when a visible download option has been enabled for that specific title. Downloads require the necessary rights-holder permission and an authorised download-enabled record. If no download button is shown, downloading is not permitted through OWENTANDO.
No. Downloaded files remain protected by copyright. A permitted personal download does not transfer ownership or grant permission to resell, re-upload, broadcast, edit or commercially exploit the work.
Send a detailed notice to owentandotv@gmail.com. Include your contact details, the protected work, the page or programme involved and evidence that you own or represent the rights.
You may share the official OWENTANDO page or official YouTube link. Do not download and re-upload the programme unless you have written permission from the rights holder.
